Extremely Compress PDF
The Aggressive setting downsizes and re-encodes every image in your PDF at the smallest size that still holds together, trading visible image quality for the smallest possible file. Text stays completely untouched, exactly as it does at every other level.
- No signup
- No watermark
- No file limit
- Free at download
Three steps
Extremely Compress PDF,without the extra steps.
- Select your PDF, or drop it onto the page. It opens in your browser, nothing is uploaded.
- Aggressive is selected by default, the setting that gets the smallest file.
- Compress, check the size drop, then download.
Why use this tool
Built forthis exact case.
Aggressive is the right choice when size matters more than how the images look: archiving old scans, fitting under a strict limit, or freeing up storage. It is the wrong choice for a portfolio or anything where photos need to look sharp.
Need a specific file size instead?
Jump straight to a common target: 100KB, 200KB, 300KB, 500KB, 1MB, 2MB, 10MB. For full manual control instead of a target, use the general Compress PDF tool.
Other ways to use this tool
Compress a PDF for email, for upload, without losing quality, for free, without software. To cut pages instead of recompressing, use Split PDF, Delete PDF Pages or Extract PDF Pages. Not sure why the file is big in the first place? See the usual causes or how compression works.
The question everybody asks
Is it really free?
Yes. No account, no trial, no watermark on the output, no cap on file size or page count, and no payment step between you and the download button.
It is free because it is cheap to run: your PDF is compressed by your own browser, so there is no upload, no server doing the work and no storage to pay for.
FAQ
Questions peopleactually ask.
How to extremely compress a PDF for free?
Use the Aggressive setting, selected by default on this page. It recompresses every image at the smallest size that still holds together. There is no cost, signup or watermark at any point.
How do I compress a huge PDF?
A very large PDF is almost always large because of its images, so Aggressive compression on the images is the first thing to try. If the file is still too big afterward, removing pages is the next step, since there is a limit to how far recompression alone can go.
Will aggressive compression ruin my images?
It will visibly soften photos, that is the trade-off for the smallest file. It never touches text, so a document that is mostly text will not look any different, only smaller.
What if the file is still too big after aggressive compression?
That means there is little left in the images to compress. Split PDF, Delete pages, or Extract pages reduce the file by removing content instead, which usually closes the rest of the gap.
Is there a file size or page limit on this tool?
No. There is no upload cap and no daily limit, because nothing is uploaded in the first place.
Is Aggressive the same as extreme or maximum compression elsewhere?
Yes, it is the hardest of the three settings this tool offers, the smallest file it can produce while still keeping the PDF valid and the images intact enough to view.
